Mr A.M. (Andrew) Holmes graduated from Maastricht University in 1998 in private law and has been practising as a lawyer ever since. Over the years, he has increasingly specialised in personal and family law and civil juvenile law.

Andrew has extensive knowledge and experience within personal and family law. In particular, he specialises in complex divorce cases. These include cases involving high levels of conflict between ex-partners, regularly involving minor children and complex financial and property law issues, including businesses and prenuptial agreements. In his practice, Andrew assists both individuals and business owners, guiding them through both the legal and property settlement of their divorce. His approach is careful, committed and results-oriented.

Since 2007, Andrew has been a member of the Dutch Association of Family and Inheritance Lawyers Divorce Mediators (vFAS). In the same year, he successfully passed the vFAS exam. In 2008, he also passed the BOS exam and is a certified mediator in divorce cases. In addition, he is a member of the Association of Dutch Juvenile Lawyers (VNJA).

Andrew has registered the following main (and sub) areas of law in the Register of Jurisdictions of the Dutch Bar Association:

  • Law of persons and family law (special trustee, divorce, maintenance cases, access arrangements, divisions, prenuptial agreements, mediation, parenthood and recognition, private international law, international child abduction)
  • Juvenile law - civil (supervisions, removals, child protection measures)

 

Pursuant to this registration, he is obliged to obtain 10 training points in each registered main area of law each calendar year according to the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
